Miranda Deakin
Miranda Deakin co-hosted the successful local travel program Saturday Afternoon and was weekend weather presenter for National Nine News throughout 2007.
Deakin started with nine in 2003 as a presenter for the national children’s program, Hot [Source] and went on to join the team of the popular travel program, Queensland Escapes.
Deakin has been involved in nine’s live broadcast of the Australian Fashion Design Awards as a roving reporter.
Deakin was part of nine’s special Riverfire and The Queensland Way, reporting on the ever-changing face of the Brisbane River and the faces behind Queensland’s innovative success stories. Deakin has also completed live crosses for mornings with Kerri-Anne and co-hosted the national Rock Eisteddfod specials with Richard Wilkins.
2007 was a busy year for Deakin as well as reporting from all parts of Qld for Saturday Afternoon and presenting the weekend weather, Miranda also hosted the national kids game show Sharky’s friends and the popular Extra summer series.
2008 sees Deakin join the new Weekend Extra program as well as the reporting team on Extra.
Deakin studied acting at the actors workshop in Brisbane, is a trained as a classical and contemporary dancer and has featured in several television and radio commercials.
