Jasmin Geisel
Jasmin first launched onto our screens in 2003, as the host of Network Ten's national AFL show, TOTALLY FOOTY – a role which made her one of Australia's youngest hosts.
She then moved into the NEWS department as a journalist, before becoming a presenter, writer and field producer on Ten's national children’s program, TOTALLY WILD.
In June 2006, Jasmin joined Channel Nine’s EXTRA team.
She also reports for WEEKEND EXTRA, NINE NEWS and SPORT, where she recently co-hosted the 2008 Qld Surf Championships.
Jasmin gained a Bachelor of Journalism degree through the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
Although a three-year degree, Jasmin managed to fast-track the course, and graduate within two-years. She and was also inducted into the ‘Golden Key International Honour Society’ for her academic achievements & results.
Away from TV, and Jasmin shares a keen interest for fashion – she’s a regular compare for special events and Fashions on the Field.
She also enjoys everything outdoors, and anything sport related.
Before her studies, she was a competitive swimmer.
In addition to being part of the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS), Jasmin represented Australia on four occasions at various international championships.
Her best results were posted at a Mere Nostrum Tour in Europe, ‘98 (4th in the 50m freestyle), and two International World Cup Championships in Asia, ‘99/’00 (2nd in the 50m butterfly & 3rd in the 100m freestyle).
She also enjoyed several sports modelling opportunities with Speedo, Adidas, Hot Curry, Nova, and was featured in a Sunsilk TV commercial.
Retiring prematurely in 2000 due to an injury, Jasmin still enjoys staying active, fit and healthy through pilates, indoor rock climbing, swimming, go-karting, and energetic walks with her two dogs.
She also has a scuba diving ticket and a recreational boating license.
When she’s not out and about, Jasmin loves spending time with family and friends, as well as her husband and established TV cameraman, Chris Forsyth.
